The Problem We Couldn’t Ignore
Co-founders Alex Mercer and Priya Nair both bought used cars with undisclosed damage in the same year. Working in tech, they knew the data existed — it just wasn’t accessible. They set out to change that.

First API Partnerships
After 14 months of technical groundwork, VINBARK secured its first data partnership with NHTSA and two regional DMV systems. The beta product decoded 10,000 VINs in its first week.
2021
Insurance Network Access
A landmark agreement with three of the US’s largest insurance claim networks added accident history data — the feature users had asked for most. Monthly active users crossed 5,000.

Every Claim is Sourced
We never display data we can’t trace to a named, verifiable source. If a record isn’t confirmed, it doesn’t appear in a report. Incomplete data is clearly marked — not silently omitted or quietly filled with estimates.
02 — NEUTRALITY
We Don’t Sell Cars
VINBARK has no incentive to make a vehicle look better or worse than it is. We have no dealer partnerships, no listing revenue, and no commission model. Our only product is accurate information.
03 — ACCESSIBILITY
Information Shouldn’t Cost More Than the Car
